The Noodle Shop at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino: some tasty Asian food
March 2013: last night in Vegas and no dinner plans. We were meeting a very dear local friend who had just finished work. We had no idea if she already had dinner. We were ready for a nice meal and since she hadn’t eaten yet we suggested she picked a restaurant. After thinking about this for a couple of minutes we jumped into the car and drove to Mandalay Bay. Now, we love Asian food so having dinner at the Noodle Shop wasn’t exactly what you would call punishment.

It was about 8 p.m. and when we arrived the restaurant was packed. There was about a 15 to 20 minutes wait so we just chatted a little. After about 5 minutes our names were called and we were seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant. We ordered our drinks and got our menus. Within 3 minutes our server returned with our drinks and we asked him to give us some time to have a look at the menu. The food selection looked so tempting. We decided to just order a number of different foods and share between the 3 of us. This is what we ordered:

Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass with sweet & spicy sauce ($25.50)
Shrimp, Beef and Chicken with Garlic sauce ($17.50)
Pork Tenderloin, Malaysian style ($17.50)

We all prefered white rice on the side and different types of Asian hot sauces.

After about 20 minutes our food was served and every dish looked and smelled great. The Shrimp, Beef and Chicken combo was very good. The plate was filled with delicious meat and the shrimp were perfect. It came with some snow peas, celery and baby corn (and we love baby corn) and the veggies were cooked to perfection. The Pork Tenderloin was really tender and the marinade was yummie (more sweet than spicy). The Pan-Seared Sea Bass tasted fresh and had a crispy crust. The sweet & spicy sauce brought some extra flavour. All these dishes combined made this a wonderful meal. All 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Portions were large enough and all 3 of us were full. After our entrees we had no room left for dessert. We had no complaints about the service. Our server came by to check on us regularly and the entire staff was very friendly. Total bill for dinner for 3 was $73.51 (tip not included). A very reasonable price for the quality of the food.

So to end this review: this was a very positive experience and we encourage you to give the Noodle Shop a try if you enjoy Asian cuisine.
