Cannery Row Buffet at Eastside Cannery Hotel & Casino
(Sent to us by resident reviewer Jane Aikey from Las Vegas)
In a place like Las Vegas, where there are so many fine, yet expensive, dining options, it’s great to find a place where you can construct a very attractive, delicious dinner, for only a few dollars. The Eastside Cannery buffet, on Boulder Highway is just that kind of place. With dinner options ranging in price from $4.99 to $10.99 with player’s card, you’re going to be able to save a ton of money here. You will also be amazed by the high quality and variety this small buffet has to offer.
Their schedule features Tex/Mex on Mondays for only $6.99. Tuesday is the big surprise with a basic buffet with a price tag of only $4.99! The desserts are simple, featuring white and chocolate cake, and chocolate and vanilla soft serve ice cream. Sugar free pies are also available. Hot dogs, hamburgers, turkey, veggies, Mexican, and Italian dishes round out the selections. I made myself a few very nice sandwiches and huge tostadas during multiple visits. The price is right on Tuesday night!
On Wednesday, they have an Italian buffet. Italian is not my favorite food, but I was able to get a great shrimp scampi at their stir fry station. This is only open on Wednesday through Sunday. They are very generous with their portion sizes, and you can choose from several styles of pasta, chicken or shrimp, and about a dozen other ingredients to be tossed in. All for 6.99! There are about 20 different Italian specialty dishes available, along with pizzas. However, I found the thick Sicilian pizzas to be very dry.
Thursday through Sunday, they serve prime rib and a few seafood items, along with the turkey, ham, veggies, chicken and many other selections. For $10.99, the selections are stepped up a bit from their specialty discount nights. The desserts are more varied, with awesome cookies, layered cakes and pies. The salad bar includes at least 5 pre-made salads, and the Asian section has at least 2 entrees, along with fish and sushi. Selections and prices may vary, as schedules do change month to month. So, if you’re going to be in Vegas soon, I highly recommend this buffet. Especially if you’re on a budget!
